UPSA Helios

Helios combines NASA DONKI events and NASA/JPL Horizons ephemerides with operational NOAA SWPC measurements at L1 and Earth, plus real solar observations delivered through Helioviewer.

Method

In SYSTEM, body positions are interpolated between six-hour Horizons vectors and a CME front is a schematic ballistic projection from DONKI analysis, not an MHD model. In EARTH, the magnetopause shape is also schematic: a pressure-only response estimate from measured solar wind.

Forecast

An Earth CME arrival appears only when DONKI contains a WSA-ENLIL result. L1, Kp, G/S/R, X-ray and proton fluxes, and OVATION come from NOAA. Helios explains space weather but is not a substitute for official warnings.

Controls

Switch between SYSTEM / SUN / EARTH / EFFECTS / HISTORY. The timeline controls SYSTEM model time; SUN can request a Helioviewer frame for a historical model time. Location for OVATION is processed only in your browser.
