UPSA Helios

Helios turns space-weather events into a moving picture of the inner Solar System. CMEs, flares and geomagnetic storms come from NASA DONKI; positions of planets and spacecraft come from NASA/JPL Horizons.

Method

Body positions are interpolated between six-hour Horizons vectors. A CME front is a schematic ballistic visualization from the speed, direction and angular width of the DONKI analysis, starting at 21.5 solar radii. It is not an MHD model. Longitude is projected into this 2D ecliptic view; latitude is shown numerically.

Forecast

Earth-arrival marks appear only when DONKI contains a WSA-ENLIL result. Helios is not a warning service; operational decisions should be checked against official space-weather centres.
